Life with Two Kids...

The second picture is the first time that the boys met. Corbin was very apprehensive about the whole situation.

I have found that I am NOT adjusting very well to life with two children. My day to day routine involves protecting a newborn baby from his curious two-year-old brother. I hate disciplining- it is no fun at all! Some of the things that Corbin has done to Wyatt lately involves 'sharing' a Teddy Graham with him (luckily I came to the rescue in time, Wyatt was gagging and choking), poking and prodding, particularly in the eye region, and lots of not-so-soft loves. Yesterday while I was nursing Wyatt, Corbie decided that it was time to learn to unlock the deadbolt to the front door. He proceeded to head out the door, barefoot, and began running down the sidewalk. I cut Wyatt's feeding short and chased after Corbin, catching him in front of our next door neighbor's house. I actually felt pretty good about myself in catching him before he got too far. Needless to say, I am tired of time-outs and scoldings.

Corbie has been pretty funny at times, too. He is intrigued by the whole nursing process, especially pumping. He caught me pumping once and came over, smiling. He laughed and lifted up his shirt and said, "Try me!" I was speechless.

Wyatt's stats from his two-week doctor's appointment are 9 lbs 6 oz and 21.5 inches long. That puts him in the 70% for height and 62% for weight. Can you believe that I have a relatively tall kid?

Anyhow, life is good, just hectic. I think that I will adjust to two kiddos one day.

I understand! I'll bring you some child-proof locks when I come...maybe you should put one on the inside of corbin's room! HA JK of course! It will get better, promise. Good luck!

I agree 100% with Lacee, it will get better & easier. It's a big adjustment and it takes time for everyone in the family to get used to the new routines. (Could you please give me this same advice when I have my 3rd?) :)

I hear ya! It is very tricky the first few months. I does get easier! Keep up the great work. It's hard, but worth it. (keep telling yourself that :) everyday)

I love Corbin's sense of humor! It is just like yours! I promise I'll be of more help in the coming weeks and come pick up the little man to play!

I love the pumping comment! LOL! Yeah, when I was nursing, the older ones would try "nursing" their baby dolls too. Thank goodness they moved on! Cute pictures!!!

You're so funny. I am hearing too many horror stories about bringing on a second child. I'm definitely not anywhere near anxious to have another. I'm sure it does get easier though. Please-if you ever need any help call me. I'm so close and I am never doing anything!

Oh boy!! Adjusting to two is a handful, but you'll be a pro in no time. It gets easier and then it gets harder again once they start moving. Please call:) We would love to have Corbin over sometime.

I have a picture of Rusti "pumping" when Addison was born and she told me one day that babies really love fruit snacks. Sure enough I had one happy baby. I'm sure 3 is just as fun!!

If it gives you any encouragement, Madi is still alive and thriving after nearly 6 months of Jed's constant pushing, poking, head butts, rough play, tackling, and tickling. I think babies were made to be resilient for a reason.
It definitely takes time to adjust to 2. I still hate taking both of them out without an extra pair of adult hands. Good luck!
